At the beginning of each year, we must declare the income of all active drivers on Heetch so that the tax authorities ensure that each driver declares a fair turnover. As a VTC driver, your turnover declaration is made every month, as part of your VAT return.
Why do we have to report the income of active drivers on our platform?
Following the implementation of the law relating to the fight against tax fraud, which is part of the General Tax Code, all electronic networking platforms are required to declare all gross earnings generated (commission included) on the platform to the tax administration. Transactions reported are those made between midnight on January 1 and 11:59 p.m. on December 31 each year.
What information is communicated to the tax authorities?
For each VTC driver with an active account, the information provided is:
- Driver's first name
- Driver's last name
- Driver email (email linked to the Heetch account)
- Siren of the company
- Legal name of the company
- Type of company
- Type of driver (manager, employee, autoentrepreneur)
- Total revenue (gross)
- Number of transactions in the 2019 financial year.
Your tax summary
You can find directly in your driver area the summary of your income for the year, which we send to the tax authorities. All you have to do is go to: Driver area > Accounting > Tax summary.
On the latter, you can select the period of your choice (see screen below).
Accounted transactions
The transactions recorded are the trips made (including accounting adjustments) and the cancellation fees (when these have actually been paid). All the figures included in the summary correspond to those to our knowledge; any outstanding cash payment that was not communicated to us in advance is not included.
All trips made via the application, whether paid in cash or by bank card, will be recorded in this statement, including commission.
As a VTC driver, how should I declare my income?
It is necessary to declare your income each month, using your tax summaries and invoices, as part of your monthly VAT return.
If you are a fleet manager, you must also file tax returns for all your employees. You will also find the invoices and tax summaries of your employees in your driver area.
As a VTC driver, what do I have to declare?
You must declare all of your income in cash and by bank card (excluding bonuses), in order to pay VAT on this turnover.
⚠️ Thanks to the tax returns that we file each year, the tax authorities are in a position to know the exact annual amount received by each driver on the platform. If you fail to report income received in cash, you are therefore taking the risk of a tax adjustment. Indeed, the non-declaration of amounts received is similar to hidden work.
